Beautiful "Aftermath" Of The Nov. 8 /05 "Ice-Storm"..........
Yesterday afternoon, the weather turned "ugly", with a heavy snow warning in effect, and temperatures dropping. Well, the rain started, which changed to freezing snow, the temperature dropped below freezing, and the winds increased to about 80 KM/HR. A good evening to be inside. Well, the wind howled all night, the power went out twice and was restored, the snow quit, and the morning was quite picturesque!
The last of the "crab apple" crop!
Frozen elm!
"Bird Hotel", closed for the season!
The Icelandic River awakens from a night of restless tossing and turning!
The sun slowly loosens the ice from the branches.
Home, Sweet, Home!
Frozen "Manitoba Maple".
The ice buildup was quite thick for an overnight storm.
Notice how the aftermath of a storm can sometimes be picturesque, with no sarcasm intended towards, and my condolences to, anyone affected by "Katrina and Rita". I am still waiting for Emergency Services to build up my dike, as they were supposed to have started, but it has been too wet for them to operate on landscaped property. Stay tuned................
