Aircraft are designed to be strong, but there are structural limits which are published for each aircraft type, and they are to be adhered to. This "smart-ass" obviously didn't adhere to the Pilot Operating Manual, and he pays the "ultimate price". I don't know if he had passengers aboard, but far too often "knobs" like this take innocent people with them.
