"Snapshots" In Time: My Manitoba
We just survived 2 days of severe thunderstorms with no loss of assets, so that was a good thing. Others didn't fare as well. Skyline Maintenance and Avionics lost part of it's roof, Sasaginnigak Lodge had 2 large trees narrowly miss the lodge and land on "hydro" wires, and there was other assorted "mayhem". Anyways, the days before the storms hit are; "Snapshots" In Time: My Manitoba.
A couple of "yawls" used to fish on Lake Winnipeg, tied up on the Icelandic River.
Lots of room for full fish tubs!
The "cockpit"!
C-GULA of Duck Mountains Survey fame also calls the Icelandic River "home" in the summer.

Lake Winnipeg and "Sandy Bar", by Riverton.
Sandy Bar is also a Piping Plover nesting area.

The "stone" harbour at Calder's Dock..........
Look how the water action from Lake Winnipeg has built up the stone "berm" along the shoreline.
Weathered, beaten stones.........
On Saturday morning early, I went to pick up Jason Lambley from 'Lambley's Hunts From The Heart', who had 3 bear hunters at Northway's outpost camp at Kesch Lake. Let's see how they made out.
Arrived! UKN at Kesch Lake with a load of bear bait!
Jason quickly off to refresh a bait while we unload.
All bear bait unloaded and stored, UKN awaits her passengers and their baggage.
"YUMMY"(?)! Bear steaks!
UKN loaded for the trip home.
Me, my "horse", and the hunters, hailing from South Carolina and Nebraska. They harvested 2 bears.
"Yup", that guy in the white shirt is sure one ugly "mutt"! Till next time.............
