Steve's Video Of The Day: "Big Rocks and Long Props!"

Flying an aircraft on "tundra tires" would be exhilarating, as the number of landing areas available would greatly multiply. A number of years back when I did the flying for the caribou hunt from Munroe Lake Lodge, the flying was done on floats. I always marveled at the landscape, as we were at the edge of the tree-line, and there were many eskers and plateaus. Numerous of these areas were suitable for landing an Otter or Beaver with tundra tires, and the migratory paths of the caribou were right adjacent to these areas. It would have been a "blast" on tundra tires!

Anyways, the northern reaches of Canada and Alaska offer the chance for pilots to find and perfect "niche flying". Loni Habersetzer and Greg Miller are 2 such pilots, and their playground is any river full of "rock bars"! Their landings and take-offs are all accomplished on wheels! Have a "gander"!
