Sad Days At Blue Water Aviation..........
Yesterday, Aug. 8, I attended the funeral of Rosanne Mahoney Gaffray, the wife of Blue Water Aviation owner Ed Gaffray. Rosanne had a 13 year battle with Multiple Sclerosis and valiantly battled it right to the end. She left us much too young, at 39 years of age. She will always be remembered, though, as she left behind a priceless legacy in her only child Lee. Life is never fair, and the time spent with loved ones far too short, but the living must soldier on. Hopefully now Edward and Lee become inseparable "Best Buddies", as they have shared an experience together few others have.

ROSANNE KATHLEEN MAHONEY GAFFRAY
Peacefully with her family by her side, Rosanne Kathleen Mahoney Gaffray passed away at the Health Sciences Centre, Winnipeg, MB, on Thursday, August 4, 2005, at the age of 39 years after a 13 year battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Rosanne was born on March 25, 1966, in Gagetown, NB, and graduated from Oromocto High School in 1984. After moving to Pine Falls, MB, and her marriage to Edward in 1990 she worked with him in the family business. Her pride and joy Lee was born in 1995. Before being diagnosed with MS, Rosanne was an avid athlete and followed the sports world very closely all of her life. Rosanne always attended Lee's hockey games where he was a goalie for the Pineview Saints. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Edward; son Lee; mother Ruth of Gagetown, NB; brothers, Eugene (Jackie) of Gagetown, Karl (Paula) of Bridgewater, NS, Mark (Janet) of New Maryland, NB, Patrick (Christina) of Bon Accord, AB; sisters, Marlene (Bob) of Pine Falls, Christine of Winnipeg, Goldie (Jeff) of Thunder Bay, ON; mother and father-in-law, Andrea and Art Gaffray of Silver Falls, MB; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father Lawrence Mahoney. The family would like to thank Rosanne's homecare workers the MICU staff and the 4th floor staff of the Health Sciences Centre for their wonderful care and compassion. Prayers will be said on Sunday, August 7 at 7:00 p.m. from the Notre Dame du Laus Parish Church, Powerview, MB. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Monday, August 8 at 2:00 p.m., also from the church, with Fr. James Gray presiding. Pallbearers will be Eugene Mahoney, Mark Mahoney, Patrick Mahoney, Jeff Whitford, Jeff MacGillivray and Dennis Boulet. Services will terminate at the church with cremation to follow. A memorial service will be held at a later date at St. Bridget's Roman Catholic Church, Gagetown. Rosanne will always be remembered and admired by her family for her courageous fight against MS.
